Adjunct Faculty
Tim Mitchell serves as an Adjunct Faculty at the Africa Center for Strategic Studies. Mr. Mitchell focuses primarily on providing support to the Advancing Military Professionalism and National Security Strategy Development lines of effort. Mr. Mitchell also supports the Africa Center’s development and execution of the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Security Studies program.
Mr. Mitchell is a former U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer with extensive experience in Africa. He is a graduate of the Tunisian Command and Staff College and served as the Senior Defense Officer/Defense Attaché in Chad, Tanzania, and Liberia. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and holds M.S. degrees from Duke University and the U.S. Army War College. During his military career, Mr. Mitchell taught American politics at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and national security strategy at the U.S. National War College.
