Africa Center Engages Zambian Alumni

In May 2023, the Africa Center held a workshop, “Managing Security Resources in Africa” in Lusaka, Zambia, in which H.E. President Hakainde Hichilema delivered a keynote address. During this same week, the Africa Center organized a gathering that brought together over fifty guests, comprised of Africa Center alumni, Zambian Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) former fellows, high-level Zambian officials, U.S. embassy colleagues, Zambian participants of the MSRA workshop, and Africa Center leadership, faculty, and staff. The Africa Center Deputy Director, Dan Hampton, opened the event and delivered remarks. The Africa Center Regional Engagement Manager, Luisa Chau, introduced everyone and encouraged attendees to move around and embrace the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with colleagues from the State House, national security office, military, diplomatic communities, and academia.
