The Africa Center for Strategic Studies will convene a webinar that provides an in-depth analysis of the actors, structures and processes that contribute the growth of violent extremism in Coastal West Africa. The webinar also provides an opportunity to draw lessons from the shortcomings of counter-terrorism approaches and existing security arrangements implemented in the Sahel.

Webinar Objectives

1. Expand understanding of the drivers, actors, structures and processes that contribute the growth of violent extremism in Coastal West Africa.
2. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the current government response.
3. Draw lessons from the decade long counterterrorism approaches and security arrangements implemented in the Sahel.
