Registrar and Engagement Specialist
Grace Tovkach joined the Africa Center’s Community, Alumni, Partnerships, and Engagement (CAPE) Team as the Registrar and Engagement Specialist in 2023. Ms. Tovkach coordinates the Africa Center’s program nomination and admissions process with U.S. embassies on the African continent. To guarantee a diverse group of participants for the center’s dialogues and mutual exchanges, she liaises with the U.S. interagency, international partners, and members of the Africa Center alumni community. Ms. Tovkach is committed to strengthening relationships in order to catalyze strategic solutions to African security challenges.
Ms. Tovkach’s previous experience in the Bureau of African Affairs at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. and U.S. Embassy Gaborone in Botswana informs her dedication to facilitating effective security outcomes for all Africans. She holds a B.A. in International Studies, French, and Russian from the University of Florida. Accordingly, she is fluent in English and French but also speaks Russian and bits and pieces of Armenian, Setswana, and Spanish.
