Professeur associé
En tant que professeur associé au Centre d’études stratégiques de l’Afrique, le Dr. Nate Allen supervise la programmation académique sur les questions cybernétiques et les opérations de paix. L’expertise du Dr Allen comprend les questions cybernétiques, les technologies émergentes, les relations civilo-militaires et les partenariats de sécurité régionale en Afrique.
Auparavant, le Dr Allen était conseiller politique au sein de la Task Force on Extremism in Fragile States de l’Institut américain pour la paix (USIP). Il a également travaillé au Département d’État américain, à la Chambre des représentants et en tant qu’analyste de recherche au NORC de l’Université de Chicago. Les travaux du Dr Allen ont été publiés dans un large éventail de publications politiques de premier plan et de publications évaluées par des pairs, notamment Armed Forces and Society, The Washington Quarterly, Democratization, Orbis, War on the Rocks, The Washington Post et Foreign Affairs. Il a bénéficié de bourses de l’American University, de la Robertson Family Foundation et de l’USIP, où il était boursier de la paix en 2016-2017. Il est actuellement chercheur à l’université de Stellenbosch en Afrique du Sud et membre du Council on Foreign Relations.
Le Dr Allen est titulaire d’un doctorat en relations internationales et en études africaines de l’École des hautes études internationales de l’Université Johns Hopkins, d’une maîtrise de l’École des affaires publiques et internationales de l’Université de Princeton et d’une licence du Swarthmore College.
