The Africa Center launched its annual Next Generation of African Security Sector Leaders Program this week with 48 participants from 34 African countries in attendance. Participants include up-and-coming African security sector professionals representing the armed forces, police, civilian policymakers, and civil society. The three week program will focus on the themes of:
- Challenges of Leadership at the Strategic Level
- African Security Challenges
- National Security Strategy Development
- Leveraging External Partnerships
The interactive, seminar style program will conclude with a capstone simulation exercise applying the key concepts examined over the course of the program.
