Description
The African Executive Dialogue is the Africa Center’s pinnacle program. The program is designed to provide an opportunity for officials in the upper echelons of African and United States governance structures (e.g., ministers, chiefs of defense, permanent secretaries, heads of African Union and its regional economic communities or their deputies) to engage in in-depth discussions about a pressing strategic issue facing the African continent. This inaugural Dialogue will address some of the key trends – population, climate, food, and water – and how they can evolve and transform into security threats for African states and citizens. The Dialogue will also focus on how African countries, especially their security sectors, can best anticipate and respond to these emerging challenges.
Audience
Executive-level African and U.S. military and civilian leaders.
